Meet the team

Shannyn Thatcher
Director & Lead Dietitian
I have been an Accredited Practising Dietitian for a few years, having completed my Master of Nutrition and Dietetics degree in 2020 at the University of Canberra. I have had the pleasure of working with patients
and clients across all age groups and in a variety of settings, including in hospitals, adult and paediatric outpatient clinics, and community-based cooking and nutrition programs. My particular areas of interest include working with NDIS clients, sensory feeding issues, blended tube feeding, food systems, and research. When I’m not at work, you can find me in my little veggie patch or at the gym. A fun fact about me is that I adore animals and grew up surrounded by dogs, horses, chickens, rabbits and many other animals! My favourite foods are lasagne and dark chocolate.
Lyndal Collins
Grade 2 Dietitian
Hi, I’m Lyndal - mumma of 3 girls and Accredited Practising Dietitian with almost a decade of experience. Since graduating from Monash University in 2015, I have worked in a large variety of different roles as a dietitian, from research to project management to private practice.

I joined The Realeatitian at the beginning of 2023 to pursue my personal passion in working with people with a disability and their families and carers. Prior to becoming a dietitian, I worked as a disability support worker for many years and enjoyed this role immensely. Having also grown up with an older sister with a disability, I have a unique perspective on the needs of those caring for a loved one with a disability and common challenges in navigating the NDIS. Since joining The Realeatitian, I have developed a special interest in blenderised tube feeding (BTF), particularly in helping families transition their tube-fed children to a wholefood based diet as an alternative to commercial tube feeding formula. It has been an absolute joy to support and empower these families to feed their children ‘real food’ and see them grow and thrive like never before!
